Timbers U23s Make PDL History, Capitals Finish Third In PKs

The Portland Timbers U23s became the first team in USL Premier Development League history to finish a season undefeated as Brent Richards scored two goals to lead them to a 4-1 victory over the 2008 league champion Thunder Bay Chill at the 2010 USL PDL Championship Game at PGE Park in Portland, OR Saturday.

The Timbers, who also got goals from Freddie Braun and Tracy Hasson, finished the season 20-0-0.

Thunder Bay's lone goal came from Gustavo Oliveira-Araujo De F.

In the consolation game, played earlier Saturday, the Baton Rouge Capitals beat Reading Unted AC in a penalty kick shootout after playing to a 2-2 regulation draw.
