Major League Soccer's defending champion, Real Salt Lake, loaned 16-year-old US soccer prodigy Luis Gil to AC St. Louis of the USSF Division 2 Pro League Friday for the remainder of their season.
Gil, 16, is a member of the US U-20 Men's National Team, having been promoted from the U-17 MNT.
The 2009 US Soccer Federation's Young Male Athlete of the Year and the second youngest US player to win the honor behind Freddy Adu, Gil, a midfielder, was drafted in the 2010 MLS SuperDraft by the Kansas City Wizards, who then traded his rights to RSL.
In 2009, he had four goals and four assists for the U-17 team.
