Smith Leads Breakers Over Last Place Beat At Harvard

Kelly Smith opened the game with a goal off Lindsay Tarpley in the first minute and later had an unassisted goal in the 62nd minute to lead the Boston Breakers to a 2-0 victory at Harvard Stadium Wednesday over the last-place and expansion Atlanta Beat in Women's Professional Soccer play.

The Breakers improved to 7-6-4 with 25 points and hold down third place in the league standings. They will travel to the University of West Chester in West Chester, PA Sunday to face the expansion Philadelphia Independence.

Atlanta, the worst team in the league at 4-8-5 with 17 points, will host the defending league champion Sky Blue FC at Kennesaw State University Stadium in Kennesaw, GA Saturday.
