Riverhounds Roll To Victory Over Top-Ranked Battery; Locks Up Second Place In USL-2

Tommy Gray and Jeremy Deighton had first half goals as the host Pittsburgh Riverhounds beat the current USL Second Division-leading Charleston Battery 2-1 Saturday in their 2010 home season finale at Chartiers Valley High School and clinches second place in the league standings with a weekend left in the regular season.

The top three teams in the league's six-team standings make the playoffs with the Riverhounds coming close to facing the defending champion Richmond Kickers, currently in second place, for a shot at the Battery and the USL-2 Championship.

Pittsburgh is 7-5-7 with 28 points and heads to the Harrisburg City Islanders next Saturday for the final regular season contest.

The Battery, at 10-4-5 with 35 points, host their home and 2010 season final this Saturday against the Charlotte Eagles at Blackbaud Stadium.
