Riverhounds Play City Islanders To Draw, But Make USL-2 Playoffs

The Pittsburgh Riverhounds officially clinched third place in the USL Second Division standings Saturday following a 1-1 draw to the Harrisburg City Islanders at Skyline Sports Complex.

Adam Gazda gave the Riverhounds the lead in the 11th minute, when Matt Baker fed him a pass, but Geoff Bloes, in the final minutes of regulation time, scored the game-tying goal in seconf half stoppage time.

Pittsburgh finished the regular season with a 7-5-6 record and 29 points, earning a playoff matchup next Saturday at the defending champion and 2010 USL-2 champion Richmond Kickers, with the winner facing the regular season league champion Charleston Battery for the title.

Harrisburg was fifth this year at 4-9-7 with 19 points and the second-worst record in the league.
