The Chicago Red Stars of Women's Professional Soccer announced Friday they have promoted defender/midfielder Lydia Vandenburgh from their developmental squad to their main roster and could see action August 19 when they travel to the Maryland SoccerPlex in Boyds, MD to face the Washington Freedom.
Vanderburgh has played 109 minutes over three games this season, starting one.
In 2009, she signed with Chicago and appeared in six matches, three of them starts, for a combined 311 minutes.
