Matt Bobo scored in the 23rd minute off a Daniel Paladini assist and Matt Watson assisted on Etienne Barbara's 40th minute strike as the Carolina RailHawks set a new single-season record for most road wins with seven after slipping past the host FC Tampa Bay Rowdies 2-1 Wednesday in USSF Division 2 Pro League play at Steinbrenner Field in Tampa.
The previous mark for road wins for Carolina was six, set in the 2009 USL First Division season.
Ricardo Sanchez had an unassisted play in the 88th minute for Tampa Bay in the loss.
Carolina is in second place in the NASL Conference standings at 9-7-7 with 34 points and hosts the Puerto Rico Islanders Saturday at WakeMed Soccer Park.
Tampa Bay is in last place in the USL Conference at 6-9-9 with 27 points and will host AC St. Louis this Sunday.
