The Montreal Impact of the USSF Division 2 Pro League announced the release of forward Peter Byers Wednesday after violating numerous team rules and, in turn, violating terms of his contract.
Montreal suspended him indefinitely August 3 for a recent rules violation.
Last season, in being punished for his behavior, Byers was sent down to the Impact's developmental team, the Trois-Riveires Attak of the Canadian Soccer League.
