Eagles, Monarchs Play To 2-2 Draw At Richard Montgomery High School

The Real Maryland Monarchs ended their 2010 home season schedule in the USL Second Division with a 2-2 draw to the Charlotte Eagles at Richard Montgomery High School in Silver Spring, MD Saturday.

Ben Hunter led the Monarchs with an assist on a Julien Noveillo goal in the 78th minute and an unassisted 87th minute score.

Leo Gibson opened the game's scoring drought in the 63rd minute with an unassisted goal and Greg Dalby created the eventual draw with a second half stoppage time shot.

The Monarchs, in last place in the standings at 3-8-8 with 17 points, close out their season this Saturday at the defending league champion Richmond Kickers.

The Eagles, 5-7-7 with 22 points but out of the running for a playoff berth, end their season at the league-leading Charleston Battery this Saturday.
