Major League Soccer's Chivas USA announced Tuesday they have loaned forward Maykel Galindo to the FC Tampa Bay Rowdies of the USSF Division 2 Pro League for the rest of their season.
Galindo joined Chivas USA in 2007 and had his best season there -- scoring 12 goals to win the team's Budweiser Golden Boot award and finish fifth in the race for the league's similar award, and had five assists.
He has scored 18 goals in 65 career games there, including a goal in six games, four of which he started, this season.
Galindo defected from Cuba in 2005 after playing four seasons for FC Villa Clara (2001-05) and scoring 12 goals in 35 games with his country's national team.
