Boston Breakers midfielder Kelly Smith was named Women's Professional Soccer's Player of the Week for Week 17 of the 2010 season and remains the only Breakers player to ever earn the honor.
Smith scored both goals in a 2-0 win over the last-place and expansion Atlanta Beat last Wednesday at Harvard Stadium, then had a goal and an assist in a 2-2 draw with the Philadelphia Independence Sunday at the University of West Chester's John A. Farrell Stadium.
Smith, who has 10 goals so far this season, has scored six of them in the last four games.
She last won the Player of the Week award in Week 3 of the 2009 season.
