Aluko Duo Leads Beat To First Win For New Head Coach Galanis

Eniola Aluko had an unassisted goal in the 66th minute and was assisted by Angie Kerr in the 73rd minute as the last place Atlanta Beat upset the host Boston Breakers 3-2 in Women's Professional Soccer play Saturday at Veterans Memorial Stadium in New Britain, CT.

Lori Chalupny posted the Beat's opening goal unassisted in the 11th minute.

The win was the first for new head coach James Galanis, who replaced Gareth O'Sullivan, who was fired Tuesday by Beat general manager Shawn McGee.

Boston got late unassisted goals by Lindsay Tarpley and Kristine Lilly.

The Beat remain on the bottom of the standings table at 5-10-5 with 20 points and will host the league-leading FC Gold Pride next Saturday at KSU Soccer Stadium.

Boston retains the third spot in the standings, good enough for a playoff berth, at 8-7-5 with 29 points.

The Breakers and Beat will meet again, this time at KSU Soccer Stadium, next Sunday.
