Altidore, Gonzalez Join USMNT As Replacements For Brazil Game

US Soccer announced Thursday forwards Jozy Altidore and defender Omar Gonzalez have been added to the roster as replacements for midfielder Jermaine Jones and defender Chad Marshall in Tuesday's exhibition game against Brazil at New Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ.

Altidore, who plays for Villareal in Spain's La Liga, replaces Jones, who was set to make his USMNT debut then, but now feels he is not ready to play for his country at this time.

Gonzalez, of Major League Soccer's Los Angeles Galaxy, replaces fellow MLS star Chad Marshall of the Columbus Crew, who is suffering from an injured left knee.

The rest of the 18-man US roster for the game stays unchanged.
