AC St. Louis, Puerto Rico Play To Storm-Shortened Draw

Host AC St. Louis and the Puerto Rico Islanders played to a 1-1 draw Friday night in USSF Division 2 Pro League play at the Anheuser-Busch Soccer Park in Fenton, MO after the head referee called the game in the 82nd minute due to lightning in the area.

The decision was made to end the game after delaying the game for 70 minutes.

Nicholas Addlery opened the scoring with an unassisted goal in the 18th minute for the Islanders, but Mike Ambersley's penalty kick in the 42nd minute for St. Louis created the tie.

AC St. Louis is now 5-11-7 with 27 points and are in fifth place in the NASL Conference. They will travel to Steinbrenner Field in Tampa next Sunday to face the FC Tampa Bay Rowdies.

Puerto Rico will host CD FAS of El Salvador in Round 2 of Group D play in the 2010-11 CONCACAF Champions League tournament this Wednesday, then travels to Cary, NC to face the Carolina RailHawks in league play next Saturday at WakeMed Soccer Park.
