Angela DeSumma led the New Jersey Wildcats with two goals and an assist as they qualified for a USL W-League playoff berth Sunday in a 4-3 victory over the New York Magic in New York's home and season finale at Iona College.
Amy Hoyer and Jessica Fuccello also scored for the Wildcats, who end the regular season in third place in the Eastern Conference - Northeast Division at 7-4-1 with 22 points and will face the Atlantic Division champion Atlanta Silverbacks in the Eastern Conference Semfinals Friday at Silverbacks Park.
The winner of that game faces the winner of the Washington Freedom Futures-Charlotte Eagles game Saturday for the conference championship and a berth in the USL W-League Championship Weekend July 29-31 in Santa Clarita, CA.
Yiu Miwa had a goal and an assist for the Magic and Aya Noguchi and Kanae Haneishi added goals as New York ended their season 3-9-0 with 12 points and in sixth place in the division.
