DC United defender Bryan Namoff, who has not played in Major League Soccer since suffering a concussion in a September 12, 2009 games against the Seattle Sounders, announced Thursday he is suspending his playing career and will work with general manager Dave Kasper in a new role involving scouting and youth development within the technical staff.
Namoff led the team to the 2004 MLS Cup and 2008 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup title, as well as back-to-back Supporters Shield crowns in 2006 and 2007.
