Major League Soccer's Philadelphia Union announced the signing Thursday of Argentine midfielder Eduardo "Chacho" Coudet, who has made appearances in two recent exhibition games -- last Wednesday against Celtic FC of the Scottish Premier League and this Wednesday against Manchester United of the English Premier League.

Against Celtic, he assisted on the lone goal scored by Sebastian Le Toux in the 1-0 victory.

Coudet has scored 56 goals in 400 career games, playing mostly in his home country for First Division teams Atletico Platense (1993-95), Rosario Central (1995-98, 2006), San Lorenzo (1998-99, 2004-05), River Plate (1999-2004) and, most recently, Club Atletico Colon this season.

He also spent time in Spain's La Liga (2002 with Celta de Vigo) and in Mexico's Primera Division (2007-09 with San Luis, 2009 with Necaxa).
