Though his arrival doesn't officially take place until the international transfer window opens July 15, Major League Soccer's Toronto FC announced the signing of forward Miguel Angel Ferrer Martinez, better known as Mista, through the rest of the season.
Martinez has played his entire career in Spain for La Liga, spending the last two seasons at Deportivo la Coruna before both sides terminated their agreement in July with a year left on the contract.
He started five games in the 2009-10 season at Coruna and came off the bench eight other times.
Mista also played for Tenerife, Atletico Madrid and Valencia, where he led them to two league titles and the 2004 UEFA Cup championship.
He could make his first appearance for Toronto on the road July 17 at PPL Park in Chester, PA against the Philadelphia Union.
