Goals scored by headed-in corner kicks led to a 1-1 draw Thursday in Major League Soccer play at BMO Field between the host Toronto FC and the Houston Dynamo in a game that got heated in the second half.
After a scuffle between Toronto's Julien de Guzman and Houston's Joseph Ngwenya in the 62nd minute, both players were ejected, leaving each side with 10 men.
Houston took the lead in the 73rd minute on Brian Ching's header goal, but Toronto countered in the 85th minute when Dan Gargon put in a Fuad Ibrahim header to tie the game.
Late in the game, Toronto played with nine men after Amadou Sanyang picked up his second yellow card, forcing his ejection.
Toronto is now in third place in the Eastern Conference at 5-4-4 with 19 and will host the Colorado Rapids next Saturday.
Houston, at 5-7-3 with 18 points, is in a three-way tie for fourth in the Western Conference with the San Jose Earthquakes (5-4-3) and FC Dallas (4-2-6). The Dynamo will host the Columbus Crew at Robertson Stadium next Saturday.
