Timbers Stomp On Spiders In 9-0 Rout; Now 11-0-0

Brent Richards had a season-high four goals and Richard Dorrego added two more as the undefeated Portland Timbers U23s won their 11th straight game of the USL Premier Development League season in a 9-0 rout over the Spokane Spiders at Tigard High School in Portland, OR.

Richards' four goals doubles his previous high for a single game and he leads the team in goals with nine.

The nine goals were the most the team has scored since joining the USL PDL in 2009.

Portland leads the league and the Western Conference - Northwest Division at 11-0-0 with 33 points and has two games next week -- at the expansion Washington Crossfire Wednesday and hosting the Abbotsford Mariners Friday.

Spokane, who was swept in their two-game series with Portland, is 1-9-2 with five points and in eighth place in the division. The Spiders will play a two-game series with the Yakima Reds beginning Saturday on the road and ending this Thursday at home.
