Timbers Officially Clinch USL PDL Northwest Division Title

Paul Ogunyemi assisted Roberto Farfan on an 11th minute goal and Brent Richards in the 54th minute as the undefeated Portland Timbers U23s officially clinched the USL Premier Development League's Western Conference - Northwest Division title and the regular season crown in a 3-1 victory over the Vancouver Whitecaps Residency in Portland's home season finale at PGE Park Sunday.

Richard Abrego later scored for the Timbers, now 14-0-0 with 42 points, on a Quinton Beasley assist in the 82nd minute.

Vancouver's only point came as Caleb Clarke fed a pass to Coulton Jackson in the 64th minute.

The Timbers, who win their first conference title in their second season of existance, close out their 2010 season this Saturday at the Victoria Highlanders and this Sunday at the Kitsap Pumas.

Vancouver, at 1-8-3 with six points and in eighth place in the conference, travels to the Yakima Reds Thursday.
