Revolution Ends Two Streaks With One Win Over Galaxy

Marko Perovic's 66th minute penalty kick goal ended a 347-minute scoreless streak and Sainey Nyassi's second goal of the season in the 74th minute ended a three-game losing streak as the New England Revolution shut out Major League Soccer's best team, the Los Angeles Galaxy, 2-0 Saturday at Gillette Stadium.

Before Saturday, the Revolution had won only one of their last 10 games.

The Galaxy did not play with star forward Landon Donovan, who dressed, but was officially rested after spending time playing for the US Men's National Team at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

Despite the upset, they retain the best record in MLS and the Western Conference at 11-2-3 with 36 points and will travel to DC United next Sunday.

The Revolution, at 4-9-2 with 14 points, are fifth in the Eastern Conference standings and will travel to the Philadelphia Union July 31.
