Pride Battles Beaten Beat In Atlanta

Four-time FIFA World Women's Player of the Year Marta assisted Christine Sinclair in the first minute on the fastest goal scored in league history and scored two goals of her own as FC Gold Pride, the leader in Women's Professional Soccer, shut out the host Atlanta Beat 4-0 Saturday at KSU Soccer Stadium, site of this past Wednesday's Women's Professional Soccer All-Star Game presented by the US Coast Guard Reserve.

Marta now leads the league in goals scored with nine.

Kelley O'Hara added a goal in the first minute of second half stoppage time for the Pride, still leading WPS at 8-3-1 with 25 points. They will host the Washington Freedom next Sunday.

Expansion Atlanta is 1-6-3 with six points and has the worst record in the league. The Beat hope to improve their record Wednesday when they travel to the Chicago Red Eleven.
