Christopher Nurse's tying goal in the 71st minute forced the Puerto Rico Islanders to accept a 1-1 draw to the NSC Minnesota Stars Wednesday in USSF Division 2 Pro League play from the National Sports Center in Blaine, MN after Melvin Tarley put the visitors in the lead in the 24th minute.
The Stars are 7-9-4 with 25 points and are in third place in the USL Conference. They will travel to the conference-leading Vancouver Whitecaps Sunday at Swangard Stadium.
Puerto Rico is 5-7-5 with 20 points and tied with the FC Tampa Bay Rowdies (5-6-5) for last place in the USL Conference. The Islanders host the Rochester Rhinos Saturday at Juan Ramon Loubriel Stadium in Bayamon, PR.
