Lamar Neagle scored his team-leading 10th goal of the season in the 17th minute off a Tom Heinemann assist as the USL Second Division-leading Charleston Battery shut out the Real Maryland Monarchs Friday 1-0 at Blackbaud Stadium.
The Battery are 9-3-3 with 30 points and will play the Harrisburg City Islanders next Saturday at Skyline Sports Complex on City Island.
The Monarchs, at 3-7-5 with 14 points, are in last place in the standings and will play the Charlotte Eagles this Saturday at Charlotte Christian Stadium.
