MPS Portland Phoenix Makes USL PDL Playoffs In Inaugural Season With Win Over Rough Riders

Nick Weightman had a pair of goals and assisted on Chris Banks' goal in the 53rd minute as the host MPS Portland Phoenix clinched their first USL Premier Development League playoff berth in their inaugural season with a 5-1 victory over the Long Island Rough Riders in both teams' season finale at Windham High School in Portland, ME.

Jason Massie and Cameron Omsberg also added goals for the Phoenix, who end the season by taking the second playoff berth in the Eastern Conference - Northeast Division at 10-2-4 with 34 points.

Long Island's only goal came unassisted in the 26th minute by Mark Secko. The Rough Riders close the book on the 2010 USL PDL season with an 8-4-4 record and 28 points for fourth place in the division.
