Montero Comes In, Scores Goal, Leads Sounders Over Metapan

Fredy Montero came in as the final substitute for Major League Soccer's Seattle Sounders in the 60th minute and scored the lone goal in a 1-0 victory over Metapan of El Salvador in the first game of a two-game play-in series to qualify for the 2010-11 CONCACAF Champions League Wednesday at Qwest Field in Seattle.

Game two of the aggregate-goal series will take place next Tuesday at Estadio Jorge Calero Suarez with the winner advancing to Group C in the competition, along with Monterrey (Mexico), Saprissa (Costa Rica) and the winner of another play-in series between Tauro (Panama) and Marathon (Honduras).
