Major League Soccer Tuesday announced the names of seven players who have been declared ineligible to compete in Wednesday's annual All-Star Game against the English Premier League's Manchester United at Reliant Stadium in Houston.
The league annually recognizes 32 players for the game, but selects only 25 for the final roster.
Three of the players -- goalkeeper Kasey Keller, midfielder Freddie Ljungberg and forward Fredy Montero -- are ineligible because their Seattle Sounders franchise will be playing at Qwest Field Wednesday against Metapan in a play-in game to join the field for the 2011 CONCACAF Champions League.
The other ineligible players are goalkeeper Jimmy Nielson (Kansas City Wizards), midfielders Joel Lindpre (New York Red Bulls) and Robbie Rogers (Columbus Crew), and forward Conor Casey (Colorado Rapids).
