London Extends Advantage In Tight Divisional Race

Alan McGreal scored on a 22nd minute penalty kick and Michael Pereira converted a Luke Holmes assist into a 36th minute goal as Forest City London edged the expansion Dayton Dutch Lions 2-1 Friday in USL Premier Development League play at TD Waterhouse Stadium in London, Ontario, Canada.

Alexander Sluijs assisted Andrew Giallombardo with Dayton's lone score in the 58th minute.

The win extended London's stay on top of the tight Central Conference - Great Lakes Division at 8-1-4 with 28 points. The Dutch Lions, who announced earlier this week they will move to the USL Second Division next season, are 6-2-5 with 23 points and in a three-way tie for second place with the Michigan Bucks and Chicago Fire, both sporting 7-3-2 records.

London travels to Fairfield, KY's Town & County Sports Center next Saturday to face the Cincinnati Kings and Dayton welcomes the Kalamazoo Outrage to Miami Valley South Stadium in Bellbrook, OH that same day.
