Nate Jaqua scored both his team's goals as, for the fourth year in a row, the Seattle Sounders of Major League Soccer will advance to the semifinal round of the 2010 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup tournament Wednesday after shutting out a fellow MLS and Western Conference foe, the Los Angeles Galaxy, 2-0 in quarterfinal round play at the Starfire Sports Complex in Tukwila, WA.
The Sounders made the first two trips to the LHUSOC semifinals as a member of the USL First Division.
Seattle now will host another league and conference rival, Chivas USA, in one semifinal game September 1 at Starfire.
Seattle and Los Angeles now return to MLS play -- Seattle hosting FC Dallas Sunday, Los Angeles travels to New England this Saturday.
