Freedom Futures Take Top Spot In W-League After Win Over Wildcats

Omolyn Davis' unassisted goal in the final minute of play gave the Washington Freedom Futures a 1-0 victory over the New Jersey Wildcats Saturday at the Maryland SoccerPlex and gave them the best record in the USL W-League as the regular season winds down this coming week.

The Futures, affiliated with the Washington Freedom of Women's Professional Soccer, now boast an 8-1-1 record with 25 points in the Eastern Conference - Northeast Division, one point ahead of the defending regular season champion Hudson Valley Quickstrike Lady Blues (8-1-0, 24).

Washington ends their home season Sunday against the North Jersey Valkyries and wraps up the regular season this Saturday at the Northern Virginia Majestics.

New Jersey has been winless this season at 0-9-0 and have two final chances for a win -- Wednesday at the Lady Blues and Saturday at the New York Magic.
