Fire Gives Mapp Over To Union For Allocation Money

Chicago Fire midfielder Justin Mapp was traded Monday to Major League Soccer's expansion Philadelphia Union in return for allocation money.

The fourth overall pick by DC United in the 2002 MLS SuperDraft, Mapp joined the Fire in 2003 and has scored 14 goals and 36 assists in 174 appearances.

He led the team to back-to-back appearances in the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup tournament in 2003 and 2004.
