Dominic Oduro scored the game's only goal unassisted in the 63rd minute as Major League Soccer's Houston Dynamo won the Group A title at the 2010 SuperLiga tournament with a 1-0 victory oer Mexico's Puebla at Robertson Stadium in Houston Wednesday.
Both teams advanced to the semifinal round, with Houston finishing 2-0-1 with seven points and Puebla finishing second at 2-1-0 with six points.
In another game Wednesday, Giancaro Maldonado led MLS' Chivas USA to a 1-0 win over Pachuca of the Mexican Primera Division with an unassisted seventh minute goal, but both teams were eliminated from the $1 million tournament.
Chivas USA still is alive in the semifinals of the 2010 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup tournament and will take on the Seattle Sounders September 1 at Qwest Field.
Tuesday, MLS' New England Revolution won the Group B title by being the only team to go undefeated in the group stage at 3-0-0 with nine points and Monarcas Morelia also advanced by finishing 1-1-1 with four points.
In the SuperLiga semifinals, set to take place between August 3-5, the Revolution will host Puebla and the Dynamo will welcome Morelia. Winners will play in the final set for between August 24-26.
Houston (at the Columbus Crew) and Chivas (at Real Salt Lake) return to MLS play Saturday, but the Revolution are off until July 31 when they play the expansion Philadelphia Union at PPL Park in Chester, PA.
