DC United Makes Lamar Hunt US Open Cup Semifinals; Host Crew September 1

Branko Boskovic scored in the first minute of the game and Thabiso "Boyzzz" Khumalo fired off an insurance goal in the 17th minute as Major League Soccer's DC United advanced to the semifinals of the 2010 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup after a 2-0 victory over the Harrisburg City Islanders of the USL Second Division Wednesday at the Maryland SoccerPlex in Boyds, MD.

The win assures an MLS franchise will take home the 2010 title and Harrisburg gains a $10,000 bonus for being the USL-2 franchise to advance the farthest in the competition.

United will now host the Columbus Crew in one semfinal September 1, with Chivas USA facing the Seattle Sounders the same night at Qwest Field.

Winners will meet for the championship trophy and a $250,000 prize October 5 with the loser getting $100,000.
