Chicago Daily Herald: Red Stars Elevate Reiser, Cut Santacaterina

The Chicago Red Stars of Women's Professional Soccer announced Tuesday they have elevated midfielder Sophie Reiser to the team's senior roster and released midfielder Jackie Santacaterina.

Reiser, selected 42nd overall in the 2010 WPS Draft from Columbia, suffered a stress fracture in her shin during the preseason, but has stayed on the team as a trialist.

She was a three-time All-Ivy League First Team member and holds the school record for career assists with 28. She was also second in career points (83) and third in career goals scored (26).

Santacaterina, a 60th overall pick in the same draft from the University of Illinois, was placed on the team's developmental roster after the WPS preseason, but hasn't seen playing time this season.
