Brilla Clinches Playoff Berth By Beating Jesters

Ahmad Ihmedian scored off a pass from Nick Rich and Lucas Paulin had an unassisted goal as the Mississippi Brilla clinched a spot in the USL Premier Development League playoffs Saturday with a 2-1 road win against the New Orleans Jesters at Pan American Stadium.

Carl Reynolds had the lone Jesters goal on a 12th minute penalty kick.

The Brilla (9-0-3, 30) are tied for the lead in the Southern Conference - Southeast Division with the Baton Rouge Capitals (9-1-3), who they will host Saturday at Harper Davis Stadium at Jackson, MS's Millsaps College in a game to determine the top seed in the division.

Before then, Mississippi will host the Central Florida Kraze Thursday.

The Jesters are 6-6-1 with 19 points and tied with the Atlanta Blackhawks (5-4-4) for fourth place in the division. New Orleans will end their 2010 season at home Saturday against the Kraze.
