Thomas Returns To Wizards Via Union Trade

Defender Shavar Thomas was traded back to the Kansas City Wizards by the Philadelphia Union Tuesday in return for a second round Major League Soccer SuperDraft pick in 2011 and 2012 and allocation money.

Thomas played in 76 games with the Wizards from 2004 to 2006, then was traded to the Los Angeles Galaxy, who then traded him to Chivas USA before ever playing a game for the Galaxy. Chivas did not protect Thomas during the 2010 MLS Expansion Draft and the Union picked him up.
