Magill's Goal Before Halftime Puts Rough Riders In Draw With Flames

Ben Arikian assisted Luke Magill on a goal before the halftime whistle sounded and the host Long Island Rough Riders defense held firm as they tied the Westchester Flames 1-1 in USL Premier Development League play Wednesday at St. Anthony's High School.

Westchester, winless in their first five games, took the early lead after 15 minutes when Richard Heredia assisted Keith Detelj on a goal.

The Rough Riders lead the PDL's Eastern Conference,Northeast Division with a 3-0-2 record and 11 points, one ahead of the expansion Albany BWP Highlanders (3-0-2, 10). Long Island plays host to the Western Mass Pioneers this Saturday.

The Flames, at 0-2-3 with three points, are tied with the Ottawa Fury (1-0-0) and the returning Vermont Voltage (1-3-0) for sixth place in the division. Westchester will host the Fury Saturday.
