Major League Soccer's DC United announced Monday midfielder Brandon Barklage underwent reconstructive surgery in Herndon, VA on an anterior cruciate ligament injured in a friendly game with Italy's AC Milan May 26 and is done for the rest of the 2010 season.
Barklage, who suffered a second torn ACL injury since he was acquired January 15, 2009, also underwent a lateral meniscectomy to repair his medial meniscus.
The team also lost the services, albeit for six weeks, of defender Rodney Wallace, due to a fratcured left fibula suffered in a scoreless draw Saturday at RFK Stadium against the defending league champion Real Salt Lake.
He had played every minute of all 10 league fixtures before Saturday's injury.
