After Luke Vercollone knocked in a goal for his opponents in the 13th minute, Matthew Delicate, with time running out in the game, connected on a pass from Sascha Gorres in the final minute of play as the defending United Soccer Leagues Second Division champion Richmond Kickers played to a 1-1 draw to the host Pittsburgh Riverhounds Sunday at Chartiers Valley High School.
The Kickers are now 1-1-2 with five points and in second place in the six-team league, five points behind the Charlotte Battery (3-0-1, 10) for the lead. Richmond will host the Real Maryland Monarchs Saturday at University of Richmond Stadium.
Pittsburgh played to their third tie in as many games and are tied for fourth place with the Charlotte Eagles (1-2-0). The Riverhounds are off this week, but travel to the Eagles May 14 and the Battery May 15.
