Jamie Cunningham scored two goals in a three-minute span of the second half to lead the Portland Timbers U23s to a 4-0 rout of the visiting Victoria Highlanders in USSF Division 2 Pro League action from Portland's PGE Park Sunday.
It's just too bad Cunningham scored his goals for Portland while wearing a Victoria jersey!
After a scoreless first half, Cunningham had unassisted goals into his own net in the 46th and 49th minute of the game.
Victoria scored its own goals when Michael Nielsen assisted Brent Richards in the 68th minute and Richard Abrego had a penalty kick in the 85th minute.
The victory extended Portland's winning streak to five straight games while Victoria suffered its first loss of the 2010 season.
Portland is 5-0-0 with 15 points and are tied with the Kitsap Pumas (same record) for the Western Conference, Northwest Division lead. They will host Kitsap Saturday.
Victoria, at 4-1-0 with 12 points and solidly in third place in the league standings, hosts the Yakima Reds Saturday.
