Major League Soccer's Columbus Crew signed French midfielder Leander Griffit to a contract Thursday.
Griffit last played in Belgium's third division for Union Royale Sportive du Centre, where he scored seven goals and four assists.
He has also played for top level teams in England and Sweden and for second division teams in England and France.
To make room for him on the roster, the Crew placed midfielder Kevin Burns on the disabled list with a sports hernia.
