Kip Critchlow assisted Britton Osborne on a goal in the 70th minute as the visiting BYU Cougars forced a 2-2 tie with the host Orange County Blue Star in their United Soccer Leagues Premier Development League season opener at Concordia University.
Orange County took a quick 2-0 lead in the first eight minutes when James Turner assisted Adrian Avila on a fifth minute score and Oscar Aguero followed three minutes later with an unassisted goal.
Brady Marshall cut the deficit for BYU to 2-1 in the 16th minute as Bryant Pugmire fed him a pass for an eventual goal.
The Blue Star travel to the Fresno Fuego this Friday and BYU is now off until May 22 when they host the Lancaster Rattlers.
