Edson Buddle added his eighth and ninth goals of the Major League Soccer season and A.J. DeLagarza opened the scoring in the first minute as the league's and Western Conference's best team -- the Los Angeles Galaxy -- defeated the expansion Philadelphia Union 3-1 Saturday at The Home Depot Center in Carson, CA.
The Galaxy are now 5-0-1 with 16 points and are at the Colorado Rapids for a Cinco de Mayo game Wednesday.
Jack McInerney scored the Union's goal in the 84th minute and Philadelphia is now 1-4-0 with three points, good for seventh place in the Eastern Conference standings. They will take on the defending league champion Real Salt Lake at Sandy, UT next Saturday.
