Bryant Uses Head To Give Eagles Win Over Riverhounds

Brady Bryant headed in a goal in the 61st minute off a Jorge Herrera assist as the host Charlotte Eagles edged the Pittsburgh Riverhounds 2-1 Friday in United Soccer Leagues Second Division play at Charlotte Christian High School.

Josh Rife fed a pass to Debola Ogunseye in the 10th minute for Charlotte's first goal of the night.

Chad Severs had Pittsburgh's only goal in the 71st minute off a Lee Kowdia-Tobey pass.

The Eagles are 3-2-0 with nine points, four points behind the Charleston Battery (4-0-1, 13) for the lead in the six-team league and face the defending league champion Richmond Kickers at the University of Richmond next Friday.

Pittsburgh is fifth in the league at 0-1-3 with three points. They take on the Battery Saturday at Blackbaud Stadium.
