Bravos Fire Braga, Coaching Staff; Name Garcia As Head Coach

After starting the 2010 season 0-2-1 with a point and tied for last place in the United Soccer Leagues Premier Development League's Southern Conference, Mid-South Division with the Houston Leones, the Rio Grande Valley Bravos fired head coach Ismael Moreira Garcia and his coaching staff and named Juan de Dios Garcia as head coach and Salvador Garcia and Everado Rodriguez Plata as assistant coaches.

The new staff officially debuts this weekend when the Bravos host the DFW Tornados Friday and the El Paso Patriots Saturday, both at Valley View Stadium in Brownsville, TX.

De Dios Garcia brings 47 years of playing and coaching experience to the Bravos, having served as the head coach of the Brownsvillle Hanna High School boys team since 1982, after graduating from the University of Texas-Pan American following the 1980-81 season.

He was a Mexican Third Division Pro player in the 1970's in Tamaulipas and coached Atletico Arsenal in Matamoros during the 1978-79 season.

Garcia formerly played for de Dios Garcia at Brownsville Hanna and is now the head coach at rival Brownsille Rivera High School.

Rodriguez Plata played for Club de Futbol Nueva Leon Jabatos and Rayados of Monterrey in Mexico's Primera Division from the mid-1970's to the mid-1980's.
