Harrisburg City Islanders defender Dustin Bixler was named Tuesday the United Soccer Leagues Second Division Player of the Week for Week 6 of the 2010 season after scoring the first goal of his career in a 2-1 upset win at home over the league-leading Charleston Battery Saturday at Skyline Sports Complex.
Bixler assisted on a goal in his 93 previous game appearances.
Before Saturday, the City Islanders were winless in their first five games of the 2010 season and in their last 11, going back to the 2009 season, including a five-game losing streak to end the regular season and a loss in the playoffs.
