Christian Gomez assisted Paulo Araujo, Jr. on a 71st minute goal as the host Miami FC Blues shut out the NSC Minnesota Stars 1-0 Saturday in USSF Division 2 Pro League play at Lockhart Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
It was the Blues' first win after playing to five weeks of draws, improving their record to 1-0-5 with eight points, good for fourth place in the NASL Conference. Miami will next host the Austin Aztex Wednesday.
NSC is 2-6-1 with six points and are tied for last in the USL Conference with the Puerto Rico Islanders (2-0-1). The Stars travel to the FC Tampa Bay Rowdies Thursday.
