The Vancouver Whitecaps of the United Soccer Leagues W-League announced the re-signings Wednesday of three veteran members of this franchise and the Canadian Women's National Team -- forwards Jodi-Ann Robinson, Julie Armstrong and Kirsteen Buchan.
Robinson will be in her sixth season with the Whitecaps and had 13 goals and four assists for 30 points and started 26 of 38 regular season games.
Armstrong will be in her third season and, along with Bucham, graduated the Whitecaps' Prospects program. She has started eight of 12 career games and played a total of 646 minutes. She completed her freshman season from the University of Oregon women's team and was second on the team in scoring with 12 points on three goals and six assists.
Buchan will be in her fifth season and has scored three goals and an assist in 25 career games. She played on Vancouver's 2006 W-League Championship team, their second title. In four seasons at the University of San Francisco (1999-2002), she had 10 goals and eight assists.
The Whitecaps open their W-League season at home May 30 against the Colorado Force.
