Major League Soccer's Kansas City Wizards are going to have to do a little magic tricks to allow recently-signed forward Sunil Chhetri, the first Indian-born player to join MLS, to be on the team.
The Wizards announced Tuesday Chhetri had received his P-1 work visa and International Transfer Certificate, allowing him the ability to now work in the US, but the team has 11 international players on their roster and only 10 spots on the roster to accommodate them.
Kansas City officials say they are looking to secure green cards for some of the international players to free up space on that part of the league-mandated 24-player roster, but must also cut a player, as they are now at 25 players.
The Wizards have yet to sign two picks from the 2010 MLS SuperDraft -- Korede Aiyegbusi and Mauro Fuzetti -- so their statuses could depend on what the team chooses to do.
